“Back From the Edge” – Borderline Personality Disorder

It is Day 3 of BPD Awareness Month and this video on BPD is fantastic!

It’s so fantastic that I’m close to tears because I can relate way too much!

The emotions of BPD are exhausting and painful. We do our best and always remember that what makes us hate so much also makes us love so much. And love is good :)

Please take the time to watch the whole thing or watch a little of the video.  Many need to learn more about BPD.

About prideinmadness

I'm 24 years old and live in Toronto, Ontario. I refuse to see myself as "sick" and instead focus on how my experience have led me to where I am. I do work and advocacy within mental health, have severe Mad Pride and know that psychiatry needs to change.

It was an amazing video. Thank you for giving me credit;) The part when Marsha said “Those with BPD feel like outsiders because – they are,” smacked me hard. It’s so true.

    • I know! Also the part where they said that having BPD is like poking someone who’s had their skin burned. AND!!!! when they said that cutting is a way to express pain that we can’t articulate! i have searched for words over and over but it’s impossible. I just need to scream and hopefully someone understands!

Tears were sitting in my eyes until I accidentally clicked out of the box :(

But the good thing is that we really AREN’T outsiders. There are tons of people out there struggling with BPD traits all their lives. Truth is we’re not alone, we never were but didn’t know it.

      • Agreed! I’ve actually been amazed at how well I relate to people who identify with other diagnoses! We may cope a little differently or whatever but deep down the pain is similar.
